From Brokenness to Freedom — My Story of Jesus, Healing, and Identity (Galatians 2:20)

My name is Bryan Chamberland, and this is a glimpse into the story Jesus is writing with my life.

I’m a dedicated son of God, learning to walk in simple obedience.
I’m a loving father of two incredible boys.
And at the bright, young, and very free age of 40, I feel like I’m just getting started.
If I play my cards right, maybe I’ll make it to 120 like Moses — who knows.

But it wasn’t always this way.

I’ve walked through trauma, hurts, and hang‑ups.
I know what it feels like to be unloved, abandoned, unworthy, and not enough.
And that road led me into every distraction you can imagine —
drugs, alcohol, food addiction, pornography… all of it.

I wasn’t running toward anything.
I was running from pain.

But then something unexpected happened.

Jesus was illustrated to me —
not through religion,
not through pressure,
not through someone trying to “fix” me…

…but through people who led with love.

Unshakeable, unbreakable, undeniable love.
Safe, secure, stable, and selfless love.

Love that didn’t demand anything from me.
Love that didn’t flinch at my mess.
Love that didn’t walk away when I was at my worst.

It made me ask the question I had avoided my whole life:

Where does that kind of love come from?

And the soft, still voice in my heart kept pointing me to the cross —
to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In 2015, I said yes to Him.
Not because I had it all together.
Not because I was strong.
Not because I was worthy.

I said yes because He loved me first.

And today… I live free.

Galatians 2:20
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live,
but Christ lives in me.
The life I now live in the body,
I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

This is just the beginning of the story.
If anything in this resonates with you — the pain, the searching, the longing — I want you to know something:

You’re not alone.
You’re not too far gone.
And your story isn’t over.

Freedom is real.
Healing is real.
Jesus is real.

And He’s closer than you think.
